A Beautiful Summer Wedding at Combermere Abbey – Sophie & Joel

On a gorgeous summer’s day in July, I had the privilege of photographing Sophie and Joel’s beautiful Combermere Abbey wedding. The couple, along with their adorable baby, Albie, made sure that the entire day was centred around family, creating a warm and intimate atmosphere that made this Cheshire wedding truly special.

Combermere Abbey, a medieval estate nestled in a the stunning Cheshire countryside, provided the perfect backdrop for their celebration. Surrounded by the vibrant blooms of the Walled Garden Pavilion, it was a dream location for any Cheshire wedding photographer. As a nature lover, I was thrilled to capture moments in such a picturesque setting. From the enchanting Edwardian Glasshouse to the charming Victorian Walled Garden Pavilion, the venue was truly captivating, offering countless Combermere Abbey wedding photography opportunities, including the incredible fruit tree maze. I’m already looking forward to the chance to shoot here again!

Sophie and Joel had a saxophonist playing throughout the day, and Spencer (IG: spencer.sax), had guests dancing on the lawns, creating a fantastic, lively atmosphere. I captured so many candid moments of everyone thoroughly enjoying themselves. The afternoon was filled with joy, genuine laughter, and countless wonderful family moments — all of which make Combermere Abbey wedding photography such a delight.

The staff at Combermere Abbey were outstanding, ensuring everything ran seamlessly. They even whisked us down to the Mere in a golf buggy, which added a fun, personal touch to the day. It truly was the perfect venue for Sophie and Joel’s celebration — from the intimate Glasshouse, where they said their vows, to the Pavilion, which became the heart of the celebrations. As a Cheshire wedding photographer, it was an absolute pleasure to capture this beautiful day, and I can’t wait to return for more Combermere Abbey weddings in the future!

“Sasha shot our wedding back in July, at the beautiful Combermere Abbey. We picked the venue because of our love of the outdoors and the beautiful scenery and we wanted to ensure we picked a photographer who would bring the venue to life in the photographs. Sasha more than delivered on this, creating a portfolio of photographs that captured the beauty of the venue and of our special day and the people who made it all the more special for us.
One of our favourite moments of photography was when we went down to the lake as a couple with Sasha and a bridesmaid. As well as lots of laughter, Sasha took the time to make sure we could capture everything that we wanted, including some really special shots of the two of us together. She made us feel comfortable and at ease throughout the whole day.
The photographs all look stunning, whether in colour or black and white and are a perfect record of the day.
Before the wedding, we had a pre-wedding shoot in one of our favourite locations and Sasha took the time to talk to us in detail about our special day, giving advice and making sure she would give us exactly what we wanted within our gallery.
